World Weather, Inc. is an international weather forecasting firm located in the Kansas City area. The owner of the company, Drew Lerner, has been providing the agricultural and energy markets with pertinent weather data since 1979. The many years of forecasting and analysis that he has performed on world weather patterns has made him somewhat of an expert in the business, although he is quick to point out that he is still a meteorologist and none of them can be completely trusted.
What Drew hopes to accomplish with this web site is to fill a niche in the agricultural weather business with what will eventually become an all inclusive weather web site for the international commodity community.
Drew began his career in 1978 when he became involved in the International Monsoon Experiment (MONEX) sponsored by the U.S. National Science Foundation. It was an international effort to improve monsoonal weather forecasting abilities from India into Southeast Asia. After that experience Drew joined Commodity News Services as a weather reporter and from there he obtained his experience through his involvement with Knight-Ridder Financial and Bridge Information Systems. He led the Global Weather Services group at Knight-Ridder and Bridge Information Systems from 1995 to 2001 at which time he broke away and formed this new weather company.
